A Particle in the Great River of Life

It seems easy to go day by day going wherever the great river of life takes you.  It could have twist and turns around a mountain, but settled as a particle of the vast movement where all you can do is naturally flow in the direction of the current.  A particle has no way to move, because it is only floating as debris of a substance so small.  It is left with no fins, paddles, or oars to swim about in the water to know the surroundings.  Are you moving?  Or is it moving you?  Lacking cognition, it could take you anywhere and no where at all.  It could take you to a pond, other river beds, possible streams, or the ocean itself.

Being a particle might be like living a simple life, how would you know better?  Sometimes it might feel like you are having a blah day, where you just go about life with no thought whatsoever.  Have you ever questioned yourself?  What is a life worth living to you?  What can bring meaning into your life?  We need to realize beyond a particle of the great river to examine it to truly live.

The unexamined life is not worth living. – Socrates.
